About Me
I live in southern Oregon with my wife, our son, and a house full of animals that keep things loud, lively, and grounded in the real world. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me running Oregon’s trails, lifting weights, or spending time in the mountains. I find that movement, challenge, and solitude are essential — and that mindset shows up in how I approach therapy: honest, focused, and built for lasting growth.
I’ve spent over 15 years in the mental health field, with a background that blends research, clinical training, and real-world experience. I hold two graduate degrees in psychology and mental health counseling, and my work draws from both evidence-based models and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience.
Originally from the East Coast, I earned my undergraduate degree at Penn State, then completed my clinical training after relocating to Oregon — drawn by the landscape, the culture, and a desire to build something more meaningful. I’ve worked with a wide range of adult clients facing everything from trauma and addiction to relationship dysfunction and identity challenges.
I bring a direct, compassionate, no-nonsense style to this work — grounded in real conversations, real progress, and real change.
Why I Became a Therapist
I became a therapist because I believe in facing what’s real — not avoiding it, minimizing it, or dressing it up in fake positivity. I’ve seen what happens when pain gets buried, when shame runs unchecked, and when people are told to “just deal with it” instead of being truly heard.
What drives me is helping people cut through the noise — to have honest conversations, face the hard stuff, and actually grow from it. Not perform healing, but live it.
This work isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you take your life back, with strength, clarity, and direction. Real conversations. Real progress. Real change.
Therapy Approach
I believe therapy should be practical, honest, and built on mutual respect. I won’t try to fix you or hand you generic advice — I’ll meet you where you are, challenge you when it matters, and help you make sense of what’s going on beneath the surface.
My approach blends structure with depth. I use evidence-based tools, but I never lose sight of your lived experience — your values, your faith, your pain, and your potential. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, trauma, addiction, relationship patterns, or a general sense of being stuck, we’ll work toward lasting change, not just symptom relief.
Clients often tell me they appreciate having a therapist who can be honest without being harsh — someone who can sit with the hard stuff, but also help them move forward. Whether you’re carrying pain, confusion, or burnout, we’ll face it directly and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
